Chairman of the Board, Joe DuCanto, saw plenty of action with the 3rd Marine Division during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his release from active duty, since he was too small to pursue a career in law enforcement, Joe went to Antioch College, where he received his Bachelors Degree, and ultimately received his law degree from the University of Chicago. Then, in 1982, in the midst of a highly successful law career, Joe founded Securatex, a private Detective agency and security firm. Joe is board chair of the firm, which employs more than 650 people and is licensed in seven Mid- western states.

Prior to the launch of Securatex, Joe was and remains a Senior Partner in what has become one of the nations largest matrimonial law firms, Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck. He has achieved and retains a national reputation as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" (Naifeh & Smith, 2001-2) for his work in Family Law, having been published in numerous journals and lecturing widely to law groups and schools and has been an adjunct professor at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law since 1968.

Later in the 1980's, the company became active in acquiring licenses and building systems in the Midwest. It was a service that early financial models projected penetrations of 5 percent of potential customers. Now market penetration continues to grow, as recent rollups of several large U.S. security firms, by a European based world-wide monopoly Security company, has presented a unique opportunity for mid-sized security companies like Securatex to offer local based U.S. owned and operated security services to the ever expanding market.

In the late 1990's, Joe saw the opportunity for competitive business focused on Investigative claims of embezzlement and other internal problems concerning white-collar crimes. The white-collar crime explosion, the crime of choice, kept pace with the growth of the computer age with embezzlement, always a major business concern. Securatex provides detailed reports of its investigation to company officials and the company determines the corrective action to be taken. During this growth period, the need for Project Management became apparent. It was at this point that Patricia DuCanto joined Securatex. Before joining Securatex, Patricia worked in service-based organizations for the past 15 years, including working overseas as a Consultant responsible for developing and implementing a strategic Sales and Marketing program for a Netherlands based company.

As Managing Director Patricia was an integral part of the team becoming responsible for policy development, project research, developing and implementing rebuild and new-build business plans, including acquisitions, corporate strategy and customer service. She was responsible for design, engineering, construction and build outs of all regional office locations throughout the Midwest.

By 2000, it was becoming clear that security, private protection and the need for investigation services competition could be expanded. Patricia perceived the value of attracting a broad based diverse community of professionals to assume leadership roles within the organization as members of the management team.

In 2001, Patricia was promoted to Executive Vice President /Chief Operating Officer with direct responsibility for the overall performance of company operations. Utilizing her experience in budgeting, analysis of monthly results, strategic planning, billing, and customer service, she subsequently executed a reorganization of the company resulting in providing clients the unbeatable combination of superior performance, a cutting edge approach to service and successful competition for clients.

Securatex is an extension of DuCanto's dream of becoming a police officer, and the inspiration for forming it was son, Anthony, who was involved in police work for several years. Education is what Joe likes best about the security business; An opportunity to train young people to become more self reliant and contributory to the community.

Since January of 03, Chief Executive Officer/President, Patricia is carrying on Joe's vision to explore a different business focus, with emphasis on employee and client retention, advanced employee training, incentive programs, quality control, advanced information systems process, and a compete-at-all-levels attitude would be the company values. Their perception has been that in the future world of Security this would prove more critical for the development of new services and underscores their view that no company was focused on providing this level of world-class client service.
